The board of directors is the governing body of CADSEA. Individuals who sit on the board are responsible for determining the organization’s mission and purpose as well as overseeing the organization’s operations and activities.
Simon Zhang

Jidong (Simon) Zhang is a seasoned quantitative modeler with 14 years of experience in financial risk management. He is currently Vice President at Wells Fargo, a diversified financial services company. His team is responsible to manage the model risk related to the firm’s $ 1.4 trillion deposit-taking business. Before joining Wells Fargo in 2015, Mr. Zhang worked for several other leading financial institutions, including Santander (USA), Freddie Mac and Capital One. Mr. Zhang was frequently invited as a keynote speaker at industry conferences.
Mr. Zhang obtained the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation in 2014. After being recognized by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) management team as an industry leader, he was invited to write several sections of 2017 FRM exam questions.
Mr. Zhang received his M.S in Statistics and Ph.D. (ABD) in Economics from the University of Georgia. He also serves as a board member and Vice-Chair of the Washington DC chapter of the TCFA (The Chinese Finance Association).
Ximiao (Ken) Jiang is an enthusiast of statistical modeling and Machine Learning. Ken is currently working as a senior quantitative modeler in Fannie Mae, where his primary role is validating and researching various mortgage loan and home price related models. Ken holds a PhD degree in engineering and a master’s degree in statistics. He has many years of experience working in both academia and industry to use advanced statistical models to address real world problems. In his career, Ken has served multiple leading financial firms and key government agencies, includes the OFR of the Treasury, SBA, USDOT, Capital One, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, etc.

Richard Xie

Dr. Richard Xie is a seasoned data scientist and a leading advocate in the data science community. He has held various leadership roles in a variety of industries. He is also an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University and George Mason University. Richard received his Ph.D degree in Operations Research from George Mason University.
Dr. Xie has successfully applied machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to solve large-scale real life challenges. At Fannie Mae, he is leading the effort to build start-of-the-art information management system to optimize the work flow in model risk management, and provide better insights into financial risk awareness. At Cylera, a health-care cybersecurity startup, he led a data science team to develop and deploy a robust real-time computation system and a suite of streaming machine learning models to monitor and detect network malicious anomalies. He has also extensive experience in leveraging data science methods in IoT device profiling and categorization.
Dr. Liu attended Nanjing University before he studied in University of Rochester for Master of Science. He graduated from university of Maryland with a PhD degree in computer engineering and then started to work at NCBI of NIH as a computer scientist. He has been working to improve biomedical search engine PubMed for 10years. He has extensive R&D experiences in NLP and machine learning applications. He also contributes considerably to help local communities with health services and professional organization efforts.

Kathy Liu is a true entrepreneur and enthusiast who believes technology can make the world a better place if it is used wisely. She also believes innovation is the soul of technology and collaboration is the key for us to keep the pace with or lead the fast-changing technology trend in the era of data and artificial intelligence. She has over twenty years of experience in team leading and project management. She managed and supervised many high-tech projects such as the implementation of microcellular systems, remote office systems, and the satellite telecommunication in the railroad system. Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in Industry Trade from Shanghai Jiaotong University and a PMP from PMI.
A data engineer, former archaeologist and 3D artist, Stephen Ning enjoys exploring the richness of the world around him and he is being amazed all the time, when he is lucky to have a glance at what is beneath, by how different the world appears when approaching through different dimensions and how they connect and intertwine with each other and eventually merge into one. Stephen had years of experience in Xuzhou museum, Shanghai Auction Corporation, Corelogic, and the computer gaming lab at University of Maryland. He is currently working as a data engineer for Bloomberg. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology from Nanjing University, a master’s degree in Art from Donghua University, a master’s degree in History from Cornell University, and a certificate in Computer 3d Art from Johns Hopkins University.

Yue Liu is Technical Lead and Cloud Architect with over 20 years of experience. He has implemented and managed various applications and web projects, from idea inception, implementation to deployment and maintenance. Yue also consults on web development for data-driven and e-commerce projects.
