1. CADSEA Membership Benefits

CADSEA members can benefit from attending all regular events without additional cost, accessing to learning resources and professional network, to participating career events, mocking interview and other special events at discounted prices. A trial of membership (one free admission to CADSEA event) is available upon request. Detailed benefits are listed below.

Non – CADSEA members are welcome to attend all events by paying event-specific ticket.

Unless mentioned otherwise, all the benefits listed below are for CADSEA members only.

1.1 General Benefits

  • Admission to all regular events including forums, seminars, networking events and Annual Election listed in section 1.2.
  • Discounts on special events: Members receive discounts on registration fees for Special Events listed in section 1.2.
  • Election of Officers: Members can elect CADSEA officers every year.

1.2 Learning Resources

CADSEA is dedicated to the promotion and the exchange of advanced data science technologies among members. In doing so, CADSEA prepares our members and the data science professional community with unrivaled learning opportunities and helps our members build the skills necessary for success.

Regular events:

CADSEA will organize events with different formats, including forums (open to public, classroom style discussion), seminars (focus group, round-table style), networking events and annual election. These events will cover both technical topics as well as non-technical topics/soft skill topics, such as leadership, industry round table discussion, or communication skills.

Special events:

Depending on members’ interests, CADSEA may organize the following special events:

  • Workshops: CADSEA will provide specialized training on most in-demand topics periodically to members who are interested in advancing their skills and competencies.
  • Group Projects: Data scientists at CADSEA will lead group projects to help members earn hands-on experience in tackling up-to-date data science challenges.
  • Mentoring program: Our member-led mentoring program will help create great connections between experienced professionals and rising stars.
  • Career training/Mock Interview: Members who had experience in interviewing will provide mock interview to members who are students or seeking new jobs.
  • Annual conference: on the day of annual election, CADSEA will organize a series of keynote speeches from distinguished guests.

CADSEA is all about building a community of professionals and enthusiasts of data science. Members can grow your network through communication and collaboration with fellow members both in-person and online.

  • Local events, both regular and special ones: CADSEA provide unparalleled networking opportunities through different types of meetings, including seminars, annual meetings and social events.
  • Social Media: CADSEA ‘s LinkedIn, Wechat group, email list, and other social media will keep members connected.

1.4 Career and Professional Resources

CADSEA provides a plethora of participation and leadership opportunities so that members can develop personally and professionally.

  • Participation: Members can submit topics to be considered for seminar and annual meeting discussion, volunteer to chair a session, or present their thoughts and experience at meetings.
  • Leadership: CADSEA provides members with a variety of exciting volunteer opportunities to expand their leadership experience. The value our volunteers provide is one of CADSEA’s greatest assets.
  • Job Information and References: Members currently in hiring positions will share recent career opportunities and are encouraged to provide internal references for fellow members who are qualified for the opening.

2. CADSEA Membership Dues

2.1 We offer two membership tiers based on your employment status:

– General Membership: $35 for 12-month if enrolled in the year of 2020
– Student Membership: $20 for 12-month if enrolled in the year of 2020 (must be a full-time student at a degree-granting institution)

2.2 Guest speakers at seminars and annual meetings will receive complimentary 12-month membership.

2.3 Volunteers will NOT receive complimentary membership during the period of volunteer service.

2.4 Before becoming a CADSEA member, a trial of membership (one free admission to CADSEA event) is available upon request.
